Some of our users has had a problem with the CRM 2011 to SharePoint document interface. For some reason, whenever they attempted to click on the actions menu for the documents associated with the CRM record when working remotely, the menu would not appear when using the web client (Internet Explorer).
The only symptom was that the little yellow error triangle was appearing at the bottom left of the CRM form.
Further research showed that when attempting to access documents for a record accessed via the CRM add-in for Outlook, a script error message appeared. The actual error was that ‘access is denied’ code:0 to crmmenu.htc; shown here as a message from Outlook CRM Add-in.
This is caused by the security settings in Internet Explorer, specifically related to trusted sites. To fix the problem, you need to define your Sharepoint server as a trusted site and under: Settings->Internet Options->Security->Trusted Sites –> Custom Level->Miscellaneous->Enable “Allow script-initiated windows without size or position constraints.”
This can also be enabled by setting the security level for trusted sites to medium-low after making sure that your SharePoint site is one of the trusted sites:
I hope that helps out.
